In EDELO residencia, we provide exhibition opportunities, private or shared room, and a full collective kitchen. Rooms may have a shared or private bath depending on time of residency. We have one private studio available on the second floor. We wish to work with alternative economies, therefore each resident proposes an exchange of some kind to help with the daily functioning of the EDELO project. We are an artist run space, exploring alternative forms of management. Edelo wishes to be a critical agent of a new citizenship and our core structure is based on cultivating curiosity. We need to break old molds of cultural production and presentation in order to seek out pleasant mistakes. Through our residency program, we wish to nurture new relationships between different and diverse disciplines for the expansion of greater possibilities in the quest for a better world.
Our residency program is designed by each individual or collective participant and we encourage a three to six week commitment for residents own personal artistic growth. We encourage collaborations with outside communities, teach workshops or participate in lectures and or seminars. We also like to provide a space for research or art production and like to connect residents with other organizations for the realization of their project. Far from the consumer, producer commercial world, we wish to give an opportunity for investigation inquiry, rather than on product. We wish to provide a comfortable sanctuary and a working space for artist, activist, educators, inventors, healers and anyone else who is using their personal talents to creating simple creative alternatives to the violent and harmful systems that we have come to accept. Farmers, teachers, carpenters, cooks, sculptors, musicians, clowns, fire dancers, conceptual artist, administrators, and accountants are all encouraged to contact us. We need all talents for these kinds of alternative spaces to succeed.
