Caleb Duarte Piñon

Founder/ Director
nació en 1977 emigrando del norte de México a las comunidades agrícolas del Valle Central de California. Comenzó a pintar a una temprana edad realizando sus estudios en el San Francisco Art Institute y más tarde (Maestria en escultura) en la Escuela del Instituto de Arte de Chicago. Duarte ha expuesto sus obras en Pienza (Italia), Mumbai (India), Los Angeles, Miami, Nueva York, Sacramento, Santiago de Cuba, Honduras, San Francisco California y Tijuana. Su trabajo ha sido criticado por Los Angeles Times, la revista Art Ltd, el San Francisco Chronicle, la televisión pública SPARK entre otros. También ha trabajado dentro de las comunidades en Honduras, México, Cuba, Japón y los EE.UU.A través de sus viajes por el Foro Social Mundial de Inda, estudios en Brasil, Italia, visitando lugares como la Philipines, Cuba, Honduras.

Caleb Duarte migrated with his family from the northern states of Mexico into the farming communities of California. He began to paint at an early age and began his studies at Fresno City Collage and continued at the San Francisco Art Institute and at the Graduate Sculpture department of the School of The Art Institute of Chicago. His work has been reviewed by the Los Angeles Times, Art LTD magazine, The San Francisco Chronicle, SPARK public television, and others. He has exhibited his work at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, SF, Red Dot Art fair in NY, The Sullivan Galleries in Chicago, Jack Fisher Gallery in SF, Gallery 727 Los Angeles, and has created works at the World Social Forum in Mumbai India, Santiago de Cuba, Cuba, El Pital, Honduras, DF, and Mexico. Duarte is co-founder of an experimental artist residency and events space in Chiapas Mexico that invites participants of diverse practices to live and create with in a period of time. Residents are from PHDs to jugglers, activist, educators, and contemporary artist to community muralist. He has giving talks about his work in places such as the De Young Museum, SF, the Mexican Museum, SF, The University of the Dirt, Chiapas MX, the University of Social Science in Tuxla MX, at the California Insitute of Integral Studies, SF, and at the 2012 Creative TIme Summit at the University of NY. Duarte lives and works in San Cristobal De Las Casas, Chiapas Mexico.

Mia Eva

Founder/ Director

Mia Eva nació en Chicago Illinois en 1984. Como pintora y escultora comenzó a crear su arte a edad muy temprana representándolo en manera muy singular en actuaciones dramáticas. Mia fue galardonada con la beca de Artes Escénicas y Creativas para asistir al programa de Honores y Arte en la Universidad de Maryland. Después de recibir su Bacherelato, Rollow continúo sus estudios en el programa de maestría del Instituto de Arte de Chicago con beca completa. Su obra ha sido expuesta en Washington DC, California, Nueva York, Hong Kong, Italia, Ciudad de Mexico, Chiapas y Oaxaca. En 2009 Mia se relocalizado en Chiapas, México, en donde es cofundadora y directora artística de EDELO En Donde Era La Uno - Casa de Arte Expirimental en Movimiento; un sitio para residencia de artistas interculturales, una galería de prácticas diversas y santuario por la comunidad. Hoy en dia como EDELO Migrante - sin espacio physico - entre Mexico y EU - Mia continua su exploracion de las posibilidades de convertir espacios publicos, artísticos, políticos, culturales y espirituales como obras de arte en sí mismas.

Mia Eva was born in Chicago Illinois in 1984. As a painter, sculptor, alchimist and questioner of 'truth' she began creating art at an early age. Mia was awarded the Creative and Performing Arts Scholarship to attend the Honors Program at the University of Maryland. Afterwards Mia Eve continued her studies in the Master's Program of the Art Institute of Chicago with full scholarship. Her work has been exhibited in Washington DC, California, New York, Hong Kong, Italy, Mexico City, Oaxaca and Chiapas. In 2009 Mia relocated to Chiapas, Mexico, where she is co-founder and artistic director of EDELO - En Donde Era La Onu - where the united nations used to be. It was a house of expirimental art, a site for intercultural residence of artists, a gallery of diverse practices and sanctuary for the community. Today as EDELO Migrante, without physical space, Mia continues her exploration of the possibilities of converting public, artistic, political, cultural and spiritual spaces as works of art within themselves.
